How to Download Reddit Videos with Sound (Fix Muted v.redd.it Files)
If you have ever tried right-clicking a Reddit video or using a basic scraper, you probably ended up with a completely silent MP4 file. That happens because Reddit's native video host (v.redd.it) uses MPEG-DASH streaming, storing the visual frames and the audio track in two separate files on their CDN. OmniSave solves this automatically by fetching both streams and stitching them together with FFmpeg in real time.
In the Reddit mobile app or on reddit.com, tap the 'Share' button beneath any video post and select 'Copy link' (shortened reddit.com/r/.../s/... links are also supported).
Paste the copied Reddit link into the input bar above and click 'Download'.
OmniSave displays all available resolutions (1080p, 720p, 480p) and automatically merges the original audio track into your downloaded MP4 file.
The Complete Reddit Media Saver for Desktop & Mobile
Automatic DASH Audio & Video Stitching
No more silent videos when sharing clips on WhatsApp, Discord, or iMessage. OmniSave locates the hidden Reddit audio stream and multiplexes it into a universal MP4 container.
Supports Short Mobile Links (/s/) & Crossposts
The official Reddit app generates obfuscated share links (like reddit.com/r/videos/s/xyz). OmniSave resolves redirects and crossposts automatically to find the true media source.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our free online media downloader.
Why do other downloaders save Reddit videos without sound?
Reddit hosts videos on v.redd.it using the DASH protocol, which separates the video file and the audio track into two distinct URLs. Most simple downloaders only grab the video URL. OmniSave downloads both the video and audio tracks and merges them into a single MP4 with sound.
Does OmniSave work with shortened Reddit mobile app links?
Yes! When you tap Share > Copy Link in the official iOS or Android Reddit app, it creates a shortened '/s/' URL. OmniSave automatically follows and resolves those mobile share links.
How do I download Reddit videos with sound on iPhone?
Open Safari on your iPhone, visit omnisave.me/reddit, paste the Reddit post link, and tap Download. Once the merged MP4 finishes downloading in Safari, open it, tap Share, and select 'Save Video' to store it in your iPhone Photos app with full audio.
Can I download Reddit GIFs as MP4 files?
Yes, paste any Reddit post containing an animated GIF and OmniSave will extract it as a universally compatible MP4 video file.
Do I need to log into my Reddit account to use OmniSave?
No login or Reddit account is needed. OmniSave extracts media from any public subreddit 100% anonymously.
Can I compress a downloaded Reddit video for Discord?
Yes! After downloading your Reddit clip, head over to our free Online Video Editor (/video-editor) and choose the 'Discord (<25MB)' preset to shrink the file size while keeping HD clarity.
